Is it possible to live without burning fossil fuels? We are attempting to build a zero energy house, fully powered by the sun and following Passivhaus design guidelines, to answer that question.

 Week 1 - Prep for the foundation

  Week 3 - Too cold to do much





  Week 4 - No progress, still too cold





  Week 5 - Snow





  Weeks 6 & 7 - Getting ready for the concrete





 Week 8 - Concrete poured, beaver lodge located



 Week 9 - SIPs wall panels are here!





  Week 10 - First floor framing





  Week 11 - First floor framing completed





  Week 12 - Second floor framing and a look at the beaver activity





  Week 13 - Getting the SIP walls up!





  Week 14 - Starting to look like a house





  Week 15 - Roof is up, working on window framing





  Week 16 - Starting on the driveway





  Week 17 - More driveway work





  Week 18 - Driveway complete, a little bit about the heat pump





  Week 19 -- The amazing ventillation system





  Weeks 20 & 21 - We now have windows





  Weeks 22-27 - Roof, blower door test, insulation & drywall





  Weeks 28-30 - Interior paint, siding and back porch
